Design Feed: Marica McKeel, AIA

April 25, 2023 @ 11:45 am - 1:00 pm

Speaker: Marica McKeel, AIA , founder and principal of Studio MM located in NY.

Description: Studio MM brings thirteen years of experience to each of their modern residential architecture projects. The complexity of projects, the size of the studio, the type of clients and the scope of the studio’s work have all changed dramatically over the past decade. In this lecture, Marica McKeel will trace the evolution of the firm through architectural detailing and share key lessons learned. This narrow framework will be used to illuminate how a seemingly small choice to detail or not to detail has ramifications on studio structure, contractor relationships, project success, and the upward trajectory of a small residential studio.

Learning Objective 1:
Examine the evolution of a small residential architecture firm over the past decade through the lens of architectural detailing

Learning Objective 2:
Understand the staff, studio, client and contractor ramifications of thorough detailing on residential projects

Learning Objective 3:
